Meet the Team!
Ivy Hill Ivy is a genderqueer activist who has been involved in the LGBT* movement since 2004. Ze is a Co-Founder and the Program Director of Gender Benders. Ze also currently serves on the advisory board of the Campaign for Southern Equality, a grassroots campaign working to bring full equality to the South. In 2014, ze received the Ryan Wilson Equality Award for outstanding advocacy for equality for the LGBT community of South Carolina. In 2015 Ivy was honored to present on the TEDxGreenville stage.
Misha Gibson LMSW Misha is a Co-founder of Gender Benders. Her work with the GBs has largely been focused on support and advocacy for partners of trans* and gender variant people. She also founded a partner support group loving known as the Better Halves. She recently received her masters of Social Worker from the University of South Carolina. Misha is a licensed social worker, and works at the Carolina Center for Behavioral Health.
Fletcher Page - Fletcher serves as the Assistant Director of the Gender Benders and has been involved in the group since 2013. Fletcher's greatest passion is bringing people together and making them feel loved, and he hopes that everyone that comes in contact with the Gender Benders feels that. His second greatest passion is advocacy, and he has presented at numerous colleges, universities, businesses, community groups, and agencies as he advocates for the trans* community. He is a big part of the muscle that keeps the group going.
Silas Thomson - Silas E. Thomson joined the Gender Benders' Leadership Team, fueled with a passion for activism, coordinating social activities, and connecting his peers to important trans resources. His passions include writing, film, volunteering, and a love of animals (especially his dog, Hex). He believes all goals can be met with the right resources and support from people who come from a place of love. With a degree in Human Services and an undying will to do good, Thomson expects to change the world - one connection at a time.
Carter West - Carter joined the Gender Benders in 2013. Since joining he has been an active member expressing his experience in meetings and attending events. Carter is passionate about working with trans* youth.
